Detailed Results
The detailed results (5 pages, 20 KB) are in pdf format. They include details of brand names and where the samples were taken.
Are there any health effects expected from the residues found?
PSD has carried out four risk assessments on the results. In all cases PSD concluded that no effects on health would be expected. The Food Standards Agency has checked and agreed these assessments.
3 samples contained residues of acetamiprid from 0.03 mg/kg to 0.2 mg/kg. There is no MRL for acetamiprid in table grapes
PSD decided no follow-up action was needed before the PRC discusses these results - see risk assessments.
1 sample contained a residue of bupirimate of 0.03 mg/kg. There is no MRL for bupirimate in table grapes
PSD decided no follow-up action was needed before the PRC discusses the results - see risk assessments.
5 samples contained residues of captan at levels from 0.1 mg/kg to 0.5 mg/kg. These levels are above the MRL of 0.02 mg/kg which came into effect on 11 May 2007
PSD decided no follow-up action was needed before the PRC discusses the results - see risk assessments.
1 sample contained a residue of pyrimethanil of 0.1 mg/kg. There is no MRL for pyrimethanil in table grapes
PSD decided no follow-up action was needed before the PRC discusses the results - see risk assessments.
When will the Pesticide Residues Committee formally consider these results?
The Pesticide Residues Committee have seen these results and discussed them at their meeting in July 2007. The Committee will discuss the results for Quarter 2 (April to June) 2007 as a whole at their meeting in October 2007.

Assessment of mammalian toxicology data shows pyrimethanil not to be acutely toxic. All the intakes were below the ADI (0.17 mg/kg bw/day – EU 2006), therefore no effect on health would be expected |
† Highest intake of all nine consumer groups or intakes for all consumer groups that exceed the ARfD.
Acute risk assessments for samples containing more than one organophosphorus/carbamate or folpet/captan pesticide
None required.
