The Pesticides Monitor

The Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) previously published The Pesticides Monitor (incorporating The Pesticides Register) which contained information on biocide and pesticide approvals issued by CRD and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The final paper copy of the Pesticides Monitor was issued June/July 2004. From 2 August 2004, all of the information formerly contained in the Pesticides Monitor will now be available on this website, and you can use the links below to locate the areas in which you are interested.

It is possible to download Notices of Approval or summary information on products from the new search facility, and you can customise searches to get the specific information you need. The information will be updated frequently, providing a more up-to-date and efficient service for our customers.

Pesticide Product Approvals

Details of the CRD issued approvals formerly published in this section can now be found on the website under the following areas:

• Off-Label approvals are published on Specific Off-Label Approval (SOLA) Database.
  
• All approval documents issued by CRD are now being made available on the website through the on-line Pesticides Register.
  
• Details of non-agricultural pesticides previously registered with the Biocides & Pesticides Assessment Unit of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and now registered by CRD can be found on the HSE website

Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP)

The Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) advises on all matters relating to the control of pesticides. For an introduction to the work of the ACP visit the ACP Home page. The minutes of the ACP meetings are available here.

Listings

The information previously contained within this Pesticides Monitor section is now available through the following links:

• Additions to and deletions from the Buffer Zone Listings
  
• Commercial withdrawals from the Official List of Adjuvants
  - Details of all current adjuvant products can be found using the Adjuvant Information Database.
  
• Corrections and clarifications to entries in previous issues
  - A search of the Pesticides Register will retrieve the latest corrected notice of approval for a product.
  
• Additions and amendments to the recognised list of Local Environment Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) low drift sprayers.
  Spray Equipment that has Received Official Recognition as Having a LERAP-Low Drift Rating is searchable through the Equipment search (Spray Equipment that has received Official Recognition as having a LERAP-Low Drift Rating)

This Pesticides Monitor section contained details of revocations or amendments to existing pesticide approvals.

• From 1 July 2003 revocation notices issued for Commercial withdrawals and failures to meet data submission deadlines have been published electronically. From 2 August 2004, these will be viewed through the new searchable Product Search screens.
• Reviews notices are issued to give effect to the results of a review. CRDs review programme ensures the routine review of the safety of all pesticides marketed in the UK. Reviews may occur at any time, but particularly if information emerges concerning the safety of people or the environment. Details of review notices relating to a particular product can now be found through the Pesticides Register.

Adjuvant Product List Entries

The Adjuvant Database provides information on all adjuvants currently approved by CRD.
