Data Requirements Handbook: Contents

The Data Requirements Handbook outlines the data required to support applications for pesticide registration made to the Chemicals Regulation Directorate CRD for approval of agricultural, horticultural and home garden pesticides (also known as plant protection products).

This website (www.pesticides.gov.uk) deals with the approval of agricultural, horticultural and home garden pesticides (also known as plant protection products). Non-agricultural (public hygiene) pesticides and biocides are also the responsibility of CRD. • Proportion of different food types in the bird and mammal diet; PDcalc. PD, or the proportion of different food types in the bird and mammal diet, is one of the refinement steps discussed in the EU Guidance Document on Risk Assessment for Birds and Mammals under Council Directive 91/414/EEC (see SANCO/4145/2000) Guidance is provided in SANCO 4145/2000 on how to refine PD, however to assist in this refinement step, PSD (now CRD) has produced a spreadsheet to aid the calculation of proportion of different food types in the bird and mammal diet. There is an instruction page linked to this spreadsheet and it is strongly recommended that this is read before using the spreadsheet. It is also strongly recommended that the guidance document is read prior to using this spreadsheet.
