Amendment, Expiry, Suspension and Revocation of Approvals
Pesticide approvals may at any time be subject to review, amendment, suspension or revocation.
Revocation of approval may occur for a number of reasons, for example the identification of safety concerns or an approval holder's failure to meet a data submission deadline. Where possible a ‘phased revocation' will be implemented, but when safety considerations make it necessary immediate revocation may take effect. On expiry or revocation of approvals it becomes unlawful to advertise, sell, supply, store or use the products for the uses concerned.
Suspension of approval may take place when it is anticipated that the action is temporary, e.g. where approval might be reinstated by the provision of required and satisfactory data.
