Updated Arbitration Scheme

Regulatory Update: 31/2012

Issued: 10 September 2012

Regulatory Update 20/2012 provided guidance on new arrangements for sharing data, including vertebrate data, under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009.

In conjunction with CEDR Solve, CRD has developed a revised arbitration scheme as an alternative dispute resolution procedure for resolving the terms of sharing vertebrate studies. It is similar to the previous scheme, which was introduced to facilitate data sharing under Council Directive 91/414/EEC. Participation in the updated scheme will, however, be entirely a matter for the parties to determine, since they will no longer be directed to arbitration, a step that was part of the previous scheme. Further information, including contact details, is set out in the scheme on this website - link to scheme document.

Our website has been updated to reflect the new scheme, see The Applicant Guide: The Protection of Data .
