Information Update: 09/2011
Issued: 10 June 2011
CRD will be holding a one-day seminar which will provide an overview of current and future issues relating to residue levels in food. The event will focus on Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) and the associated risk assessment and risk management aspects. The seminar will be held at the Cedar Court Grand Hotel in York on Thursday 22nd September 2011. The day will start at 9.00 am and finish at around 4.30 pm.
Format of the day:
The day will consist of a series of presentations aimed at providing a complete and up to date overview of current and upcoming issues that relate to MRLs. The discussions will include CRD’s views on how critically important issues are evolving within the EU.
The seminar will be presented by CRD Policy and Regulatory Specialists who will be available to answer your questions throughout the day. The platform presentations will be followed by question and answer sessions.
Topics of discussion
Although the seminar will focus on MRLs, discussions will also take place on the integration of Regulation 396/2005 with the new Plant Protection Products Regulation 1107/2009.
The following topics will be addressed during the day:
- Risk assessment issues under PROFile/Article 12 of Regulation 396/2005
- Risk management decisions under PROFile/Article 12
- Update on development of annexes to Regulation 396
- Development of procedures relating to Regulation 396
- Update on guidance and procedures for risk assessment
- Monitoring, risk assessment and RASFFs
- Future Developments
Who should attend?
The seminar will be of particular relevance to all those who work within the field of MRLs including the food industry and who wish to receive the latest information. However, given the increasingly close relationship between MRLs and product authorisations the seminar will also be of significant interest to those involved in Plant Protection Product registration.
Please be aware that in order to facilitate the discussions CRD will assume that anyone who attends the day will already have an understanding of the MRL processes and related areas of the regulatory framework.
