Consultation Opens on Streamlining Chemical Regulations
08 January 2013: The HSE is inviting comments on proposals to update and simplify the domestic regulations which support EU legislation on Biocides, Export and Import of Hazardous Chemicals (PIC) and Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (CLP) Regulations. New possibilities for advice relating to planting of following crops
14 December 2012: This Regulatory Update sets out how CRD will now consider a wider range of following crop advice, via pesticide labels, to ensure residues in following crops (also called rotational or succeeding crops) are kept within acceptable levels, as well as considering possible phytotoxic effects
Consumer Risk Assessment Workshop: 24th January 2013
15 November 2012: CRD will be holding a one day Consumer Risk Assessment workshop on Thursday 24th January 2013 in York from 9:30 am until around 4.30pm. The cost of attending the workshop will be £380.00 (+20% VAT) per delegate.
New Draft Guidance on Time Dependent Soil Adsorption of Pesticides
9 November 2012: Following Defra-sponsored research and development work, CRD have recently submitted a draft guidance document on generation and use of aged soil adsorption parameters for pesticides for scrutiny by the PPR Panel of EFSA. This draft guidance is on the CRD website
Two Day Workshop on Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment for Plant Protection Products
04 October 2012: CRD will be holding a 2 day workshop on the 12th and 13th of December, providing an introduction and overview of ecotoxicological risk assessment, along with some more in-depth discussion and exercises. Disposal of Data Submitted to CRD Prior to 1986
13 August 2012: Following a review of data storage CRD intend to destroy data submitted prior to the introduction of COPR in 1986. Data owners are given the opportunity to request the return of studies for their own retention by 13th September 2012

Consultation on the UK National Action Plan for pesticides
31 July 2012: This Update is to publicise a consultation which Defra issued on 30 July. The consultation seeks views on the draft UK National Action plan for pesticides required under the EU directive on the sustainable use of pesticides

New UK Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012

Human Health Enquiry and Incident Survey relating to pesticide use HHEIS 2011
15 June 2012: This Regulatory Update requires Authorisation Holders of all products authorised for sale/use in the UK during 2011 to provide CRD of HSE with details of all human health related reports or enquiries & Resistance Reporting involving their products, which were received from users or any other source during last year

Transposition of Directive 2009/128/EC on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides
04 November 2011: Defra has issued an update to stakeholders on the work to transpose Directive 2009/128, which establishes a framework for Community action to achieve the sustainable use of pesticides, into UK law. This update explains why the Government has decided not to conduct a second formal consultation, on a set of draft Regulations, as initially planned

Rodent Services East Anglia Fined for Pesticide Offences
23 August 2011: At Norwich Magistrates Court on 17 August 2011 Rodent Services East Anglia pleaded guilty to four offences of failing to use a pesticide in accordance with the conditions of the approval and not taking all reasonable precautions in breach of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 and The Control of Pesticides Regulations. They were fined a total of £3,350.
