Products to be withdrawn from the market containing malathion
Background
Information Update 05/2007 provided notification of the future withdrawal of malathion from the plant protection products market. This Regulatory Update now provides the dates for withdrawal of malathion products.
The EC Decision (2007/389/EC) was published on 6 June 2007. The dates for withdrawal of plant protection products containing malathion are given below.
The UK has three professional products and one amateur that must now be revoked in order to withdraw these products from the market and comply with the EC Decision.
Professional Products:
Approval for advertisement, sale, supply, storage and use will be revoked / withdrawn from 6 December 2007 for Approval Holders and their agents.
Approval will be given until 6 December 2008 for the storage by any person and for the advertisement, sale, supply, storage and use by persons other than the approval holder or their agents.
Amateur Products:
Approval for advertisement, sale, supply, storage and use will be revoked / withdrawn from 6 December 2007 for approval holders, their agents and all other distributors and retailers.
Approval will be given until 6 December 2008 for the storage by any person and for the use by persons other than the approval holder or their agents.
